In the Black Sea waters, on the artificial Ambassadori archipelago in Batumi, construction of the first high-rise building has officially commenced. The start of the skyscraper's construction was announced by the press service of the Georgian government.
During a ceremonial event, Prime Minister placed a symbolic time capsule into the foundation of the future structure. The head of government emphasized that this event is historic in nature and sets entirely new standards for the entire Black Sea coastal region.
According to Prime Minister, work on the archipelago itself is proceeding strictly on schedule: construction readiness currently exceeds 50%.
The island-building project was launched in 2022. The total area of the archipelago, which is designed to resemble Dubai's famous Palm Islands, will reach 90 hectares. Upon completion, this tourism and business cluster is expected to generate approximately $65 million annually for Georgia's state budget.
